French President Emmanuel Macron , the people criticized the rights situation in Egypt during a state visit in the authoritarian-ruled country.

“I reminded President Al-Sisi to the fact that the search for safety that drives us, cannot be the question of the rights separately,” said Macron on Monday at a press conference with Egypt’s head of state Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Macron had arrived on Sunday with several Ministers and business representatives to the three-day state visit to Egypt. He visited first of all the temples in Abu Simbel. On Monday he signed in Cairo by Al-Sisi a number of economic agreements, and said the Egyptian government’s financial assistance for urgent economic reforms and development assistance.
