Today, the City Council of Maracena began the distribution of high school textbooks to students who have registered in the municipality and are studying at Manuel de Falla Institute. This is just one of many measures taken since the outbreak of coronavirus, which aims to help families and businesses.

Noel Lopez is the mayor of Maracena. He stated that many families are facing difficult times due to the crisis.> The first mayor of Maracena stated that “we are demonstrating, in a progressive government,” that people are the most important thing to us. He said that guaranteeing education access is crucial and that he is working to achieve it, even though it is not within his powers.

This measure benefits 160 Maracena students, as well the local bookshops that sell lots of books to the town hall. There were 88 Baccalaureate students in the first year and 72 in the second year. They will be distributed Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 AM for 1st graders, while 2nd graders can pick up their materials on Thursday or Friday. Parents who are unable to attend the morning session have two afternoons.
