According to a survey, Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) is currently the most popular politician in Germany. He overtakes Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens), who is now in second place, according to a representative survey by the opinion research institute Insa, which was reported by “Bild” (Tuesday).

According to “Bild”, the North Rhine-Westphalian Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU), the left-wing politician Sahra Wagenknecht and the Federal Minister of Agriculture Cem Özdemir (Greens) followed in the places behind. The heads of the traffic light government, i.e. Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) and the head of the finance department, Christian Lindner (FDP), rank seventh to ninth.

For the opinion trend, Insa asked eligible voters from September 29 to October 4, 2008, “How do you rate the following politicians?”.

A similar survey by the ZDF “political barometer” had come up with very different results last week. There Özdemir was in first place, followed by Baerbock, Scholz and Habeck. This was followed by Ministers of Health Lauterbach, Lindner and Söder.
