Rock ‘n’ roll breaks with the establishment.

But the old style with the sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll does not seem to be able to offend as in the genre’s younger days. The Rock Band Frei.Wild shocks instead with nationalist texts, why Flensburg’s lord mayor, Simone Long, has concerns that they should give a concert in the city 20. april.

– I do not like the fact that the band will perform here with us in Flensburg. Their texts are admittedly not in the list of works with questionable content, but they have a right-wing extremist dynamics, explains Simone Long to the newspaper Flensburger Tageblatt.

In the first place had the band perform for 500 people, but the concert has now been moved to the Flens-Arena, where there is room for 5000 guests, write JydskeVestkysten.

the Band, which derives from the austrian-oriented minority in south tyrol, has a solid focus on holding the home culture and language. Some of the text from their song ‘south tyrol’ reads as follows.

‘in Short, tolerate I’m not any criticism of this sacred country, which is our homeland. South tyrol, you are not lost yet, in hell to your enemies burn.’

the lord Mayor considers, that the board of directors of the Flens-Arena to discuss how, in future, to avoid the accommodation of the kinds of bands. Board of directors are Flensburg Municipality, Schleswig Flensburg Amt and the insurance company Provinzial.

– the Board shall deal with how we can get outside on the shady garden of the kinds of events in the future, believe Simone Long, according to the Tageblatt.

Also, the association ‘Wir Case Moin’, fighting for the rights of refugees in Germany, has made indvendninger against rockbandets visit. They believe that the band creates fear of a multicultural society.

Frei.Wild does not even consider that they are right-extremist, but rather that they just show love for their homeland, culture and language.

lead singer, Philipp Burger, points out in several interviews, that it is extremely important for a minority to stick to their cultural and national values. Otherwise they will be swallowed up by the majority.

Before Philipp Burger formed Frei.Wild he was a member of the band Kaiserjäger, who was accused of being neonazistisk.
