The rock band Lord of the Lost represents Germany at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). With her song “Blood

In the run-up to the preliminary round, Lord of the Lost were the favorites among the eight starters. However, after voting by an international jury from eight countries, the group only came in fifth; the jury awarded half of the total points to be awarded. In the public vote, however, the group was so far ahead that they also got the most points overall.

The UK is hosting this year’s ESC, although in 2022 it only finished second behind Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra. Because of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, the European Broadcasting Union EBU did not want the ESC final to take place in the country of last year’s winner, as is usual.
