Forbipassérende by a container in Brabrand, Aarhus got himself a bit of a shock, as they recently found that there was a live monkey in a small cage at the side of the container.

the monkey’s owners had apparently become so tired of their little pet that they had left and left the monkey to himself in the cold.

There is talk about a so-called hvidøret marmoset of the kind that are allowed to be kept as pets – among other things because its size is modest.

People with a good dyrehjerte, which coincidentally came over the monkey in the small hundebur, took good care of it in a couple of days before they contacted the Animal Protection. From there it was the monkey provisionally handed over to the Animal Protective Boarding in the Fires.

– It is of course somewhat taken aback and tumultuous after some eventful days, says Bettina Lindskou, familiedyrsvejleder at dyreinternatet in the Fires, to Ekstra Bladet.

the Marmosets are a group of south american monkeys of the family egernaber. The group includes about 20 different species. They are native to south America, and the majority of the species live in the north of Brazil.

the Monkey was run in the car from Brabrand to Fires on Thursday and must now be examined by a veterinarian. It is done to ensure that it is sound and healthy, before it hopefully gets a new home with other marmosets.

– It is sitting quietly in his now slightly larger cage and looking. When you sit to go to the cage and talk to it, the one in the meeting. I see this as a good signal that it has it’s good and is confident, says Bettina Lindskou and deepens his assessment that the eat, as it should, and looks fine in the coat, eyes and teeth.

the Animal Protection internat in the Fires, which also goes under the name of Mosegaardens Dogs and Kattepension, calls for animal owners calling 1813 and ask for help rather than just to dump the animals at a container or other places, if the owner can’t keep the animal. Here a picture of the silkeaben, which is now, thankfully, is in good hands. Private

the Animal Protection Internat in the Fires, which also goes under the name of Mosegaardens Dogs and Kattepension and operated by mr and mrs Kent and Mrs Karlsen, has a total of approximately 200 animals. It is primarily used for cats, rabbits and dogs, but a few budgies and now a monkey also has a roof over his head on the spot a little outside of the Fires in the Sydvestjylland.

the monkey’s owners have not given a sound, since it came to Fires.

– It rains we don’t happen. If the vet, which we expect to declare the monkey was healthy, the next task is to find a new, suitable home for it.

– It should be a place where they have the sense of marmosets, and where there are other monkeys of the same race in advance, ” says Birgit Lindskou.

She adds that it is considered to be a very social animal, and that, therefore, it will be a shame to put it in a place where they are alone.

Director of the Randers Regnskov tropical zoo, the Henry Herald, find the ‘callous, reprehensible and something damn bad that someone can find to treat a live animal on the way’.

– The (dyreinternatet in the Fires) are welcome to apply. If the monkey is the same species as the ones we have, we can probably have it here, says Henrik Herold.
