Shortly before the exit of their country from the EU, more and more Britons apply for the citizenship of a neighbouring country, Ireland. With more than 190,000 applications for an Irish passport, the number of 2018 have reached a new peak, informed the Ministry of foreign Affairs in Dublin.

From the British province of Northern Ireland had approximately received 84.850 of such requests, slightly more than in the previous year.
