‘Desperate Housewives’star Felicity Huffman and 13 other parents have confessed to their role in a widespread corruption case, where wealthy parents paid large sums of money under the table to get their children into prestigious universities.
Felicity Huffman, 56, and the other defendants will each appear in court in Boston, and declare the guilty, writes the Associated Press.
Huffman has on Monday issued a press release, where she explains that she was ’ashamed’ to have taken part in the fraud.
– I acknowledge my fault and take full responsibility for my actions and the consequences thereof, inform her and explains that her daughter was not aware of the fraud.
Huffman, who paid 15,000 dollars to ensure her daughter safety and result in an audition, is facing a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, but so bad it will probably go no for the actress.

Huffman, who is married to actor William Macy, is a smaller fish in the case. Other parents have paid up to 500,000 dollars to get their kid into drømmestudiet.
There is talk of bribery for a total of $ 25 million. The prosecutor calls the case the biggest scandal for admission to u.s. universities, which the ministry of justice has investigated.
