Bio-Böller? It’s not there. Fireworks caused fine dust. And always leads to the most severe injuries. For some, it is an expression of personal freedom, or simply a great fun to pop, but many in Berlin sucks the new year’s eve. The animals from keep the noise every year. The Chairman of the Green parliamentary group in the house of representatives, Antje Kapek, has therefore recently a firecracker ban. For the whole of Berlin? No, only for the areas within the S-Bahn ring.

In the supposed boundary districts, many are disturbed by this proposal. The worst air quality on new year’s eve in this year in the district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. The firecrackers should be banned in the next year there would probably drive some people from Friedrichshain, for example, according to Lichtenberg to pop in there. It is feared not only traffic chaos, but also that many of Friedrich Hainer would just drive up to the S-Bahn station of Lichtenberg, where it already every year, very messy. The train station is converted also in the winter time to the cold station for the homeless can sleep there in the night.

What are the penalties should there be?

The approach of Kapek was “too easy and, unfortunately, discriminatory,” Kevin Hönicke, Chairman of the SPD group in the district Assembly in the prescribed Lichtenberg. “So either you are against the fireworks or not,” he says. As he himself says, he was not. It would be a firecracker ban in Berlin on the days before and after new year’s eve, for example. However, would be crazy, especially on new year’s day, and not too little. “If so, anyway no one on a fireworks ban, what was the point?”, ask Hönicke. And who should enforce the prohibition? What penalties will there be?

Kapeks party colleague, Hannah Neumann, candidate for the European elections, is a firecracker ban in the whole of Berlin, especially in Lichtenberg. “A ban within the ring can only be a beginning. If you see other parties ‘ position is even hard.“ Kapek himself said later, to welcome the approach of extending the fireworks ban. “I’m going to take part in the debate in the house of representatives.” Anyway, a radical stopping of sales of fireworks was better. However, this was a Federal matter.

Kapek himself in Kreuzberg

in 2016, Lichtenberg constituency of Kapek was lives. She was the Friedrichshain district in the house of representatives election directly to a candidate, among other things, for the area of Frankfurter Allee, so at the border. “Our city must not fall apart again,” she wrote at the time. “Neither in the Poor and the rich in a hip center and a suspended periphery.” Meanwhile, Kapek and his family lives in Kreuzberg. Every year on new year’s eve, she leaves for fear of the Böllerei the city. That’s why many of the bother in Lichtenberg in their call for a ban on the firecrackers only within the S-Bahn ring.

“The Trend in Berlin than two districts are to see, Ring and Non-Ring area, has always been a much too one-sided consideration,” Sebastian Füllgraff to be changed in the last year of the light, Berger Green to the Left. Also, from a Western district, outside the ring railway, the criticism comes: “The fine dust makes it to the S-Bahn-borders”, says Thorsten treasure of the CDU Spandau. With a view to Kapeks proposal he speaks of narrow-mindedness.

honey is not a friend of the Böllerns, a General ban but, he rejects. He could imagine a ban on certain priorities. There, where last year was the most garbage are remained, for example. Or there, where in the last year forces with firecrackers and rockets were fired. Only for local bans Christian Gräff, CDU member of Parliament from Marzahn calls-Hellersdorf. The proposal of Kapek, he considers it “complete bullshit”.
