A newly-discovered species of a blind ormepadde shall officially be named Dermophobis donaldtrumpi – named after the american president Donald Trump.

It is the company EnviroBuild, dealing with environmentally-friendly building solutions, as at an auction has paid 25,000 dollars – equivalent to about all 163,000 Danish kroner – for the right to name the boneless, blind amphibian.
– It is the perfect name. Caecilian (which in English means ormepadde, red.) comes from the Latin word caecus, meaning blind, which perfectly reflects the strategic vision, as Donald Trump has consistently shown to climate change, says Aidan Bell of EnviroBuild.

The blind ormepadde-art was recently discovered in Panama, and Aidan Bell tells that it in particular is its ability to dig its head down in the sand, which caused them to name it after the president and his relationship to the climate.
the Naming of the Dermophobis donaldtrumpi comes in the wake of the Donald Trumps reaction to the u.s. state’s own report on climate change, which was released in november. ‘I don’t believe in it’, said the president.
the Right to give ormepadden a name was auctioned off to raise money for the non-profit organization Rainforest Trust. The researchers, who found it ten centimeters long animals here have agreed to use the name Dermophobis donaldtrumpi, when the publisher of scientific literature about their findings.
