In 2005, Sweden introduced the ban on smoking in bars and in restaurants. The aim is to reduce tobacco consumption throughout the country. According to Aftonbladet Sweden should be completely smoke-free by 2025.
In connection with the vote in the Swedish Parliament there was consensus on the tightening, but disagreement about whether it should also apply udendørsrestauranter.
The new laws also means that the number of snusportioner in snusdåserne must be reduced, and that the dealers must have a separate permission to sell snus.
