Football can be a cynical game for a lot of money.
But apparently there are still big stars who bring glory high.
now, for example, James Collins.
The 35-year-old defender with more than 300 Premier League matches and 51 matches for Wales on his cv after leaving West ham in the summer, trained with his former club Aston Villa in The Championship.
It did not give him a contract, but he bit the teeth together and showed in a practice match recently, that he still has the skills to perform at a certain level.
And when Aston Villa had problems in the defensive ranks, slammed manager Dean Smith, therefore, a short-term contract on the table for Collins. He could get 10,000 pounds for the week to the end of January – a total of 50,000 pounds or 413.000 euros.
The wrote Collins, and then ambled he to training.
Here it was, however, wrong for the welshman. He tore a muscle damage, after which the frustrated player walked right in and brought his new contract and tore it in pieces. It learns the Daily Mirror.
Actually he could have gone to be with to do something and then just raised its wages, while he waited to be fit again. But Collins put allegedly a point of honor not to demand money, when he could not deliver the promised performance.
The action can oddly enough be mean, that he stands strong in the image to get a permanent deal with the club when he revealed himself as a true gentleman.
In each case, acknowledges the Daily Mirror that Villa manager Dean Smith is willing to give Collins more opportunities to play himself into a contract at the club.
Aston Villa is currently number eight in The Championship, three points behind a playoff position.
