Sweden needs more qualified interpreters. Today, the government’s proposal on how the asset can increase in the long term.

the Background to the investigation is the great need for qualified interpreters. There is no special exam to get serve as an interpreter, and only a quarter of the country’s interpreters are registered, trained, or authorized. The thing is also that about 40% of the authorized interpreters are expected to retire within the next few years, according to the utredningsdirektivet.
the Investigation has among other things had the task to identify the corps, and propose a clear educational and fortbildningsvägar. Today, it is difficult for the interpreters that have studied at college or an adult education association to build on their education, among other things, because there are a limited number of advanced courses. The inquiry has also had the task to give a picture of how often it occurs to children or other family members must step in as interpreters-a qualified interpreter is not available.
