Red Bull special adviser Helmut Marko is never pale, in order to bring its positions to the arena. On top of the Ferrari’s disappointing special forces arrive in Australia, he gives to the Autosport its views on why the italians were so much slower than everyone expected after vintertesten in Barcelona.
– It is quite clear that the Ferrari underpræsterede. Also Haas. We don’t know exactly, but I think they are holding back on performance because they had problems with the cooling, he says.
Kevin Magnussen topped the admittedly midterfeltet, but Red Bull expected upstairs vintertesten, to Haas in the løbstrim would be even faster.
Haas was suddenly slower, notes Marko.
chief engineer Ayao Komatsu draws on the smile, since the Extra Leaf present him the Red Bull-bossens theory. Internally on the Haas team did the season roughly as expected; neither significantly faster or slower, he explains.
None of the drivers put the optimal place during the timekeeping, but in Haas do not aspirations to be able to follow the Red Bull or the other topteam over a race distance.

Kevin Magnussen does not come up with much for the theory. For even if the engine is the same, is the cooling part of the aerodynamics, as the team itself develops.
– Our sidekasser is designed differently, our upper intakes are different. You can’t say that if the Ferrari is bad, we are bad, or vice versa. It is the individual, says Kevin Magnussen to Ekstra Bladet.
this is not to say that Helmut Marko is wrong in the terms of the italians ‘ problems in Australia, where they were closer to Haas than Valtteri Bottas’ winning Mercedes.
– He may well be right in it with Ferrari, because we had them also as clear as soon as after the test, which they were not in Melbourne, says the dane.

If their cooling is not worked, it would have consequences, and late summer in Australia is somewhat warmer than the winter in Barcelona, where Ferrari was really fast.
– It is always the case that when it gets hot, the car gets less efficient. The more you cool, the more air comes into the engine and the car instead of over it. It can be done more or less efficiently depending on how well the car is designed, explains the dane.
