Russia fears that the UNITED states’new missilstrategi will lead to a dangerous arms race in space.
It can be a restart of the so-called stjernekrigsprojekt from the cold war, says in a statement from the Russian foreign ministry on Friday.

It implies, among other things, that the UNITED states will develop space-based sensors and weapons, which can track enemy missiles and shoot them down if they are moving in on american territory.
It is in russia’s eyes a confrontational strategy that can shake the already fragile international stability.
The Russian government is especially uneasy about the parts of the strategy, which is to develop a defense in the room.
– If these ideas will become a reality, it will inevitably lead to the beginning of an arms race in space. It will have negative consequences for international security and stability, says in a statement from Russia’s ministry of foreign affairs.
– We would like to urge the u.s. government to reconsider and to go away from this irresponsible attempt to relaunch on a new and more high-tech basis – Reagan-era stjernekrigsprogram.
the Ministry also calls on americans to talk with Russia about atombalancen, “before it is too late”.
