The El Arbol de las Loruletas association started an educational project a little more than a year ago. It aimed to work with all children in the municipality on two fundamental concepts for the future: respect for the environment to ensure a cleaner and healthier future. Peace is the goal of a peaceful society.

This project was communicated using a symbolic element like “El Abuelo Acebuche”. The municipality has a centennial olive plant.

It all began with the collection of wild olive tree seeds to germinate new wild oil trees. On January 28, in commemoration of School Day of Peace and Non-Violence, the trees were given to educational centers for them to take care of and plant in their centers. The value of peaceful coexistence was thereby increased.

It has been transplanted to several centers, but others keep it in the original pots while it grows.

The project is still growing. It is also that the project included ‘The Lollipop Tree,’ a parallel story about the little trees. This story explains Grandfather Acebuche’s meaning and symbology for the municipality. The students from 11 municipalities contributed illustrations and the marketing module at IESFuentenueva has created a book which is being distributed by the municipal educational centers.

Social Services launched the first edition of this book in a 1000 copies. It has 20 pages and is available in A5 format.
