Scientists are calling for stricter particulate matter limits

The European Commission has launched a review of EU air quality rules. In the first draft, however, it does not follow the WHO proposal of five µg/m3, but proposes an annual limit value that is twice as high as that which applies in Switzerland. This has been criticized by scientists, the German Medical Association and health associations.
