“Senegal’s president looks to have won the elections”

“Senegal president Macky Sall looks to get to remain at his post after the weekend’s elections. When 87 percent of the votes have been counted is Sall on almost 57.3 percent and the nearest rival, former prime minister Idrissa Seck, has more than 21.6 per cent, according to local media.”

“If none of the candidates have over 50 percent when all the votes been counted it will be a second round on 24 march.”

“But now seems to Sall win the election already in round one. So far he has alone amassed 2.2 million votes compared with a total of 1.7 million votes in his four rivals scraped together.”

“Accusations of corruption and voter fraud has occurred.”

“Macky Sall, who is trained as a geologist, became president in 2012. In the year he went to the choices on the improvement of the transport system and to launch major infrastructure projects to boost the economy.”
