football Fans in Aarhus was mesmerized by Erik’s Tryllerik’ Rasmussen in the spring of 2009. AGF was number one in the League, and the coach was storhyldet for its masterful characteristics as a coach.
In the course of half a year it went completely wrong for Rasmussen. In the spring of 2010 ended AGF to be relegated in the 1. division, and then there was only svinere in the air.
’the Guy him’, wrote Århus Stiftstidende, and Rasmussen ended up being sacked in the AGF. The club still had a picture of the club as one of the best teams in the League.
Now, says 58-year-old Erik Rasmussen at Århus Stiftstidende, how he had it with the massive criticism, and that he was required fired by the newspaper.
– I could not really excite me about all the writing, basically, those who had wanted me fired, the right. With the squad and the conditions I had available, I should have done better, says Erik Rasmussen to Århus Stiftstidende.
In the interview points out, he at that time had the understanding of the harsh writings on the coach. Deep down inside knew ‘Tryllerik’ well, to the title as coach a topklub would only be for a limited period of time.
– But I somewhere always knew that the title as top trainer was only on loan, and there hid a different reality, somewhere quite close. The knowledge made it easier to live with the volatility of the criticism, says Erik Rasmussen.
Rasmussen don’t think that he was toptræner again, as many clubs do not like his way to be the coach, and it has created conflicts.
Erik Rasmussen was most recently coach in Vendsyssel and from the new year 2016/2017 to 8. may 2018.
