Vicente Garcia Egea is the territorial delegate for Tourism of the Board of Almeria. He has visited Seron which has been the beneficiary of the Juan Marin council’s subsidies for the promotion of universal access and the implementation of the tourism value of the public culture heritage of the municipalities of the interior of Andalusia for 2021.
Garcia Egea visited Seron with Juan Antonio Lorenzo, the mayor, and Caridad Lopez, the Councilor for Tourism. He was accompanied by Garcia Egea, who was able to find out more about the project being undertaken in the town through this line of subsidies. This municipality’s total amount to 59,986.31 euro.
This money will be used to reform, adapt, and condition the semi-basement floor of Seron Museum. Also known as the Seron Historical Center, it is located in the vicinity of the Nasrid Castle, which has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. The three-story building mentioned above will make its facilities more scientific and investigative.
The action project is focused on the completion of the building’s needs with new spaces such as a management room, an archive, or a reading room. “To be able to host cultural events and to disseminate contents of the museum, the collection, and promote visits to the town>>.
This intervention will also include internal distributions, new finishes for walls and ceilings, and thermal conditioning, ventilation and electricity, which will improve its energy efficiency.
The provincial head of Tourism, Seron, has praised the unique characteristics of Seron’s municipality from a tourist perspective, saying that they “are very much in accord with the objective sustainable tourism that we promote through this ministry”.
Garcia Egea also stated that Juan Marin’s ministry considers the development of the interior section of the province a “maximum worry”. He has also highlighted the fact that these holidays have seen a high level of occupation.
