But from then on it is also time for other things. We will definitely be cycling a lot, because I now know that I contact the people go missing. We are going to be a lot of sea to go hiking, more fun things to do together with their grandchildren, and perhaps I will also have my sewing machine back from the attic. Simply: enjoy life.”
In 1972 moved
Lucien and Christiane took over the business of Maurice Verschuere and Zoë Heyse, the parents of Lucien. In that 72 years, but two generations behind the counter stood. ”The first store in the Veldstraat in Knesselare, right in front of the former Withof,” says Lucien the family story. “Pa worked as a shoemaker for the window and as he was one day noticed by the man of wholesale Boes from Eeklo. He proposed not only for shoes, but now shoes to sell. In a few days time that was arranged. Father flew with his studio back in the house, and in front was a shop for mother. A lot more than what trestles with planks, was that not in the beginning. In 1972, moved the store from the Veldstraat to the Urselseweg. First We together with our parents worked, and in 1985, we have the case taken over. It’s been lovely,” says Lucien.
