The pilot of a small plane threatened to crash the plane into a supermarket over the US state of Mississippi on Saturday. According to police, the plane was circling over the city of Tupelo. The Walmart supermarket and a nearby store were evacuated.
According to the information, the plane began circling over the city at around 5 a.m. (local time). The plane was still in the air three hours later. Contact was made with the pilot. Citizens are asked to avoid the area, the police wrote.
The police and all emergency services in the area are on alert. Gov. Tate Reeves said: “State law enforcement and emergency managers are keeping a close eye on this dangerous situation.”
