on Thursday evening, arriving the chinese pandapar, which must be accommodated in the Copenhagen Zoo to Copenhagen Airport.

But not everyone is equally excited for the chinese statsgave.

This applies among other things, the support committee for Tibet, which will demonstrate, when the pandas arrive.

It informs Anders Højmark Andersen, who is chairman of the committee.

– We believe that the pandas will only come to Denmark, because we have written off our own borders in the desire to satisfy the chinese.

– We compromise on our own values, in 2009 when we recognised the illegally occupied Tibet as part of China, and we have rejected meetings with the Dalai Lama in 2011 and 2015, says Anders Højmark Andersen.

He also refers to the Tibet case, where the Danish police in 2012 after the chinese desire shielded the president of China from watching the demonstrators in Copenhagen.

It was a major case out, and there was established a special commission to investigate police handling of the incident.

China, however, does not only pandas to countries, because they have earned it. According to Anders Højmark Andersen is China’s intentions also appear better.

– China uses pandas to improve its bad image. China violates the gross violations of human rights in Tibet as well as east turkestan, where there are about a million people in the prison camp.

China is well aware of. So I think that they want to use the pandas as part of their pursuit of the so-called soft power for countries such as Denmark.

– There is not anyone who can say anything bad about the adorable pandas, he says.

Kjeld Erik Brødsgaard, professor at the Institute for International Economics, Politics and Business at Copenhagen Business School, believes, on the contrary not that you should put so much emphasis on pandaernes important for Denmark’s policy towards China.

– I think that is an overreaction. There is some underlying story, that we are now going in the pocket of the chinese, and that it is a symbol that we are perhaps already in your pocket.

– But for example Huawei shows that we have our clear freedom in relation to China, he says.

Støttekomitéen for Tibet has also announced a major demonstration in front of the Zoo 10. april, where there is gallaåbning of the newly-built panda plant.
