Superliga club Esbjerg on Wednesday presented a deficit of 9.5 million dollars for the financial year 2018.

It is an improvement compared to the previous year, when the deficit was of 24.6 million.

It will write the club in a press release.

Esbjerg played half of last year in 1. division, but managed the team to move up in the premier League in the ongoing season, and it has had a positive impact on the financial statements, it sounds in the message.

– A deficit of 9.5 billion euros is of course not satisfactory. The development in both gross profit as net profit in relation to the results obtained in both 2016 and 2017 is satisfactory.

– It is this process and the development we focus on. It also confirms the good development, and we are on the right way to create economic sustainability, says ceo Brian Bo Knudsen.

the Club has during the year had a general increase in revenue. Among other things, sold the club in august last year Anders Dreyer to the Premier League club Brighton.

at the same time, the club has reduced the cost.

– If at the same time we are knowledgeable and continue to play in the premier League in the next season, and the support from both sponsors and spectators continues, I will consider that we are close to creating economic balance in EfB Elite A/S in financial year 2019.

– It will generally only be a trophy worthy after several years of large deficits, says Brian Bo Knudsen.

Esbjerg is currently in fifth place in the premier League with 32 points.
