Style Limburger Ties Bemelmans lost his heart to Borgerhout and a loft in a former dairy. With art and design he deserves his bread and his home is a gathering place for valuable pieces that come and go.
In what way are you in the interieurwereld rolled?
“The interest is already there from childhood. I have always attached importance to conviviality, with flowers, plants and candles. Later I started to delve into the beauty of buildings. Architecture study was obvious, and I turned also for a while in an architectural firm. It was on closer inspection not where I wanted with my life, and I have my passion for photography when the upper hand. I choose not always the easiest way, but feel instinctively what is important and what is not, and then follow resolutely my gut instinct. One day, I saw my chance to start as right-hand man of Boris Devis, art and designexpert. And the driving force behind Goldwood Interiors, an internationally reputed web shop plus offline platform with a vast selection of vintage design, antiques, art and curios. We are colleagues, but he is also my mentor and friend. He has made me acquainted with a world that at first I didn’t know.”
How did you end up here?
“The strength of a house is very important for me and I am patient in my search. I had a pretty good idea of how and where I wanted to live, but it was not an easy command to something
