Telefónica has set June 9 as the deadline to request the payment of the flexible dividend of 0.148 euros on account of the 2021 financial year in cash.
The operator has published this Wednesday its dividend schedule in the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) and 31 free rights will be necessary to obtain a new share of the firm for whoever chooses the remuneration in company securities.
Telefónica, which after this distribution will return to the cash dividend, has marked May 31 as the last day to contract shares with the right to distribute a dividend.
On June 2, the period for assigning rights will be assigned, which may be sold back to Telefónica if cash is preferred until the 9th. Telefónica will acquire them on the 14th, the last date to negotiate these rights, and the day 16 will make the first payment in cash.
Depending on the volume of shareholders who have accepted the cash, Telefónica will conduct the capital increase which, in the event that all shareholders opt for this remuneration, would mean a maximum of 873.6 million euros for the firm’s coffers for issue 189.1 million signature papers.

The operator hopes that the procedures will take place between June 17 and 24 with the aim that on June 24 the new shares will begin to be listed on the stock market.
Telefónica has prepared the calendar with a reference price of 4.78 euros per share. At 2:50 p.m., shares were up 1.28% to 4.9 euros.
