When the family had packed out, would the IT expert Andrew Barker just make a scan of the WI-FI. The scan revealed a camera, and at the same time found Andrew Barker out to the entire family on top of that was filmed live. – I got a shock. It was a terrible feeling, tells Nealie Barker for CNN, and adds, that she subsequently contacted Airbnb to tell about the hidden camera:
– They had no advice for us. There was a girl who told us that if we cancelled within the 14 days, we would not get our money back.
Then called the husband of Andrew Barker to the owner of the Airbnb house. But when he was faced with, that the family had found a hidden camera, he turned off just the phone. Later he called back to Andrew Barker and insisted that the camera in the living room was the only hidden camera in the home.
the Family then moved to a nearby hotel and called again the following day to Airbnb.
They could still not understand how serious our request was. They considered still the whole matter as a cancelled booking. But later promised Airbnb’s security team to carry out an investigation, and the owner of the dwelling was temporarily suspended from the their list with Airbnb housing.
Since Nealie Barker two weeks after again contacted Airbnb told the company that the owner had been acquitted in the case and again had been on the list of Airbnb homes.

It was only when Nealie Barker did a lookup about the matter out on his Facebook, that spread to the media in New Zealand, Airbnb responded. And now was the owner permanently deleted from the list of Airbnb homes.
Airbnb has said the following to CNN on the matter:
‘Security and privacy is our priority. According to our policy it is strictly prohibited to have hidden cameras in Airbnb homes. And we take reviews and violations extremely seriously. We have permanently removed the aforementioned owner from our platform’, is the opinion of Airbnb, which ends thus:
‘Our treatment of this day has not lived up to the standards we set for ourselves. We have apologized across the family. And they have been refunded the cost of their stay’.
