The attack in Strasbourg – this we know
A man opened on the Tuesday night fire on the people in the centre of Strasbourg, in France. It here we know about what has happened.
• Two people are dead. Fourteen people are injured, including nine seriously. The death toll was revised down by the authorities on Wednesday. The numbers are preliminary and can be changed.
• the Shooting occurred in the city’s narrow alleys, right after one of the country’s largest christmas markets, in a square a short distance away, closed for the day. According to the minister of the interior, people have been shot in three places.
• An offender is identified and is on the run. He is identified as a 29-year-old man, born in Strasbourg, with a criminal past. He appears in the security police register and is known for religious extremism, but has no known connections to terrorist offences. He was investigated previously for robbery and attempt to murder\u002Fdråp. He should have carried both a firearm and a knife.
• After a couple of eldväxlingar with the police escaped the 29-year-old by to hijack a taxi from a driver.
