China is not quite as afraid to copy things, as we are in Europe, which is one of their latest projects clearly shows. They have copied an austrian mountain village right down to the smallest detail, and located in Guangdong province in China, writes news24.
Originalbyen called Hallstatt and is known for its cozy small streets and an idyllic location in the alps. It is also one of the reasons why the city ended on the Unesco world Heritage list, and it is possibly there that the chinese have had their eyes opened to it.

the Company behind the copy-the city is metalvirksomheden China Minmetals. They have a total built 134 of the houses from the original Hallstatt, and at an auction in may bought the keen chinese 110 of them. So if you have the desire to own an austrian chalet, located in China, you better hurry before the remaining 24 houses sold.
The austrian inhabitants of Hallstatt and was not asked about the law, before the China Minmetals started to copy their city. The mayor of the town was also not very pleased that their town suddenly got a doppelganger on the other side of the world, but for one reason or another he has changed my mind, and now he seems to project really well.

Why were representatives from the original Hallstatt also taken all the way to China to participate in the inauguration of the new copy-Hallstatt last week.
The chinese city occupies one million square meters, and has a cost of about five billion dollars to build. Since China Minmetals alone in 2007 had a surplus of 131 billion dollars, there should be enough money to copy a few other european cities.
