In a plowed field just outside of Aarhus is in full swing with the build.

the Plan is that within the next ten years must be a thriving new town here, which combines the best from the big city hustle and bustle with the quiet calm.

Or as Tækker Group, who are behind the project, puts it: ‘With the city in the front yard and nature in the backyard. And so it should be all on top of that be built sustainably. It writes BygTek.dk.

the District, which is dubbed the New, for example, the first place in Denmark, where all runoff from roofs, roads and green areas is collected, cleaned and sent back into the pipes, so it can be used as flush water in toilets and to wash clothes.

The sustainable principle also has importance for the materials in the construction of the New, where you have weighted the recycling and materials importance for the indoor climate high.

according to Bygtek also installed a sustainable roofing felt on several of the houses and the thought of alternative sources of energy.

The new town, designed by the architectural firm Hune & Elkjær, in collaboration with Loop Architects, will, when finished, will consist of 10,000 new homes.

The future residents can look forward to a town square, with grocery, delebilsordninger, joint workshop, byttebørs, children’s playground and forsamlingslokale.

the Ambition behind the project is that the district, in addition to being sustainable also provides a framework for a natural community, where residents come to each other.

– We have tried to create a different urban structure, which takes into account the neighbors, the surrounding landscape and nature. Parameters such as material selection and energy consumption means much, but it is, first and foremost, the city as a whole, there must be sustainable, says Niels Christian Nielsen, creative director and partner in the architect firm Hune & Elkjær, to BygTek.dk and adds:

– Therefore, social sustainability, not least important in this context.

21 out of the first 50 new homes is provisionally finished, and has already moved the residents into 12 of them.
