Between the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel and the cap Fréhel, the Emerald coast, one of the jewels of Northern Brittany, stretches for about forty kilometers. Romantic beaches, panoramas and magical seaside chic follow one another at a dizzying pace, against a backdrop of crystal-clear water.
If Saint-Malo the corsair is the ideal stopover on this stretch of coastline very Beautiful Time between Ille-et-Vilaine and Côtes-d’armor has a thousand surprises. In love or in family, it is full of iodine, but also wonders architectural, historical and gastronomic.

The charming small port of Cancale (Ille-et-Vilaine), the fishermen’s houses of granite are glued to each other, is one of the high places of the oyster farming in france : is purchased directly its famous Belon to the taste of hazelnut from the producers installed at the end of the quay Thomas, and you enjoy in all simplicity sit at the top of the oyster beds. The village, overhanging houses the former residences of notables and of the shipowners, but also the fabulous spice shop of the chief cancalais Olivier Roellinger (www.epices-roellinger.com) and its pastry shop and tea room Grain Vanilla , place de la Victoire.
We put on good shoes to traverse the 7 km lined with pine trees and gorse that separate Cancale for pointe du Grouin ; since this advanced rock rising 50 m above the sea, the view embraces the horizon, the cap Fréhel to Granville by way of the Mont-Saint-Michel. The coastal footpath continues until l a tip of the Varde (from 6-7 hours of walk from Cancale) : Port-Sea , The Orchard , Guimorais , Les Chevrets , The Saussaye , touesse from , are part of the most beautiful beaches and coves of this beautiful piece of coastline – you can of course access drive.

the reputation of The corsair city of Ille-et-Vilaine and its iconic city walls fortified beyond the borders of france. Strolling through the small winding streets of its intra-muros, it is believed go back in time, back to the time of Surcouf, fishers of cod and navigator Jacques Cartier, who discovered Canada in 1534. A unique atmosphere, which reached its climax when one goes to low tide at fort du Petit Bé , one of the four bastions built on the islets close to protect the prosperous port of the invasions of the English in the Eighteenth century.
To take the measure of this breathtaking spot of Saint-Malo, walking on the ramparts since l a porte Saint-Vincent to the porte Saint-Thomas. Porte des Bés gives access to the delightful beach of Bon Secours and its magnificent sea-water swimming pool, built in the years 30. Face it, the island of the Grand Bé – accessible also at low tide – is the last home of the writer malouin François-René de Chateaubriand, who is buried standing up so you can watch the sea forever… as Well as dazzling beach of the Furrow, , long of 3 km, which extends to its feet.
Our recommendation : don’t miss the district of Saint-Servan , with the iconic fortified tower Solidor, and his marina des Bas-Sablons, where you can enjoy a drink at sunset.

Place of elaborate resort since the Nineteenth century, fond of the English and crowned heads, the “Nice of the North” instantly seduces with its villas of the Belle Epoque and its iconic beach of the Lock , celebrated by the filmmaker Eric Rohmer in Conte summer.
Musardant from one neighborhood to the other of Dinard, the tip of the Malouine to tip of the Reel seat , we believe in Pornichet or in Biarritz, plunging into the past at every street corner. The seven walking tours offered by the city of Ille-et-Vilaine (routes 30 minutes to 1 h) allow us to discover some of these 407 beautiful mansions in the architecture is exuberant. The town also has a large number of galleries and artists, we absolutely have to push the doors. If parasols and rowers are no more bet, no resists, however, is not the desire to be elegant to walk in the sunset, the promenade du Clair-de-Lune , among the exotic flowers and palm trees. The next day, we enjoy a fantastic ice raspberry and hibiscus purchased in Wind of Vanilla (3 bis, boulevard du president Wilson) before putting his napkin on the beaches of the Priory or Saint-Énogat .
Our recommendation : The Festival of british film Dinard (www.dinardfilmfestival.fr) is an annual event that is worth the detour. The edition 2020 is confirmed : it will be held from 30 September to 4 October.

Dinard, Saint-Lunaire and Saint-Briac-sur-Mer form the trio “chic” or “people” of the Emerald Coast. At Saint-Briac, houses of character have become the discreet haunt of celebrities or captains of industry. But the village of 2000 souls is attractive mostly for its 11 beaches uncrowded : Port Hue , the Great Salinette and Small Salinette have the preference of the families, who also attend the club house in the Art Deco of the Dinard Golf course, magnificent 18 holes course built there are more than 120 years. After the bay of Lancieux , Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer is the ideal starting point for a hike at low tide on the idyllic island of Ebihens.
At Saint-Cast-le-Guildo , toggles in the Côtes-d’armor and lounging on the Great Beach . And then you put the cap on the fort La Latte , proudly perched on its rocky point ; erected in the Fourteenth century, it served as the setting for the film the Viking starring Kirk Douglas. After an hour of walking on the coastal path, among the heather, and here are the majestic cliffs of sandstone rose in the cap Fréhel , overlooking the Channel of their 60 m height. It shows up in the channel islands, and the ballet of the sea birds is spinning ; this grand universe mineral is the natural site breton the most visited after the pointe du Raz .
Our recommendation : at Saint-Briac , Surf Harmony offers on the long and beautiful beach of Longchamp, sessions, discovery or development of surfing, courses and rental of surf, stand-up paddle, bodyboarding (www.surfharmony.com; phone : 06 16 13 48 08 ; 1 session 40 €, rental of surf 1: 30, 10 €).
