Extra Leaf was on the first train ride from Jutland to Sealand after the accident that killed eight people on Wednesday morning.

It was a trip with the confusion around the departure of a crowded train, waiting time and a depressed mood among the passengers. The accident yesterday could in the degree felt in the carriages.

Two of them, who was with the train, it was German couple Melanie Mittenbuhler and Hans-Georg Sprenger, who was on the rer IC824 in Odense. Their two-day trip to Copenhagen would be started on Wednesday, but due to the accident that happened on Wednesday morning, they had to take an accommodation in Odense.

– We heard well about the accident yesterday, but there we were, the country in Odense. At first we thought that it was so bad, but later we found out what really happened, says Hans-Georg Sprenger, while the train slowly moves out of lavbroen, where the accident happened.

– It is terrible that such a thing can happen. It is when we think that we should have been, with a train yesterday. It could just as well have happened, in the train we had put us into. It could actually have been us, continues her Melanie Mittenbuhler.

General is the atmosphere pressure, if you ask around in the train. Several of the passengers, as the Extra Magazine chatted with on the way over the water, had planned a trip yesterday morning, but for various reasons it had been moved to later in the day or completely cancelled.

One of them is Julie Cederlund, who usually come from a town near Slagelse, but had kept the new year in Aalborg.

– in Fact, I had planned to go with the train, which was involved in the accident, but then I decided at the last minute to take a train that went a little later, of not having to up so early. I really think that it is scary to think about. I’m actually a bit creepy here in the train, you suddenly become aware of how fast that can happen.

Anders Jensen, who each day commute between Odense and Copenhagen, was also with the train on Thursday morning. Yesterday he had free, so therefore, he was at home when the accident happened.

– I know It is so terrible for all those who have lost, and those who have come to harm. Even though the accident yesterday, probably going to sit in me for a long time, however, it is not such, that I will do something different in the future. However, I will probably think me extra good about, if it is windy or storms much a day, ” says Anders Jensen, who is on the road in his work as a PLUMBING installer.

Although many of the trains between Odense and Copenhagen can be the pressure on the square, was IC824 the train, which went 10.43 from Nyborg, really pushed. It was obvious that many had chosen to drop the togbusserne and instead wait for that the trains again ran over the bridge.

In the train on Thursday morning from Jutland towards Sealand, it was difficult to move from one wagon to the other. So many people had chosen to wait on the train again drove instead of taking the rail replacement buses. Photo: Claus Bonnerup

It is almost impossible to move from one wagon to the other in the crowded train, and togkontrolløren reiterated again and again that people need to move away from inputs and outputs. In the midst of the chaos sat in Heidi’s Garden with his book and read.

– I have family on the island of Zealand and lives in Horsens, so I’m probably with the train once in the month approximately. Right now I’m not so creepy, because I think that they do not send a train of place, which is not safe. But it is really scary to think how fast it can go, and the life can join.

Eight people lost their lives 7: 30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, and a further 16 people were injured. It is the worst train accident in Denmark in 30 years, and although the everyday life once again has volunteered in IC824 the train on Thursday morning, it is clear many thoughts go out to those whose lives will never be the same again.
