Marinbiologen Ocean Ramsey has an adult følgerskare on bildedelingstjenesten Instagram, and get to normal a good response at the pictures she publishes.

But the last few days has it taken completely off.

the Main reason for this is not Ramsey though, but she swims along with. “Deep Blue” – one of the largest hvithaiene ever recorded.

– This is magical, she wrote under a video where the more than six-metre-long shark passing by just centimeters away.

The figures also a video in which she stretches the arm out and take on the huge predator. Both pictures and videos are now shared throughout the world.

– It is pretty amazing

But not everyone is equally excited for the Ramseys behavior around it that is supposed to be “Deep Blue”.

– It is quite amazing that you actually have to say “please do not take on the six meter long predator”, but the way has therefore been, ” says marine biologist David Shiffman to the Washington Post.

Michael Domeier, founder of the Marine Conservation Science Institute, says to the american storavisa that he was concerned when he saw how Ramsey behaved around the shark.

– To promote in social media that it to stay around these animals in this way is irresponsible. 99% of sharks is not dangerous, but this is potentially very dangerous. This is not a soft toy you jump in the water with, ” he says.

– If you are on safari in Botswana will take you not grasp the mane of a lion and let it tow you around. It makes you simply not.

Ramsey has not yet answered any media on the criticism, but leave Thursday out a longer forsvarsskriv on Instagram.

Where she points out that she has extensive knowledge of the hvithaien after having worked with the species in a number of years, and that she would rather not encourage others to do what she did.

– I will discourage it strongly. This is the mighty predator that demands respect. At the same time, they are not the brainless monsters that the media portrayed them as, she writes.

In another post she writes that she works hard for that people to increase the level of knowledge about sharks amongst most people.
