28,653 Corona cases were reported to the RKI yesterday.
That’s 30 percent less than a week ago.
The nationwide 7-day incidence is falling, from 189 to 175.
There was recently a clear gap in the number of cases between northern and southern Germany:
Significantly higher incidences have been reported from the northern countries.
But now the numbers are declining, especially in the north. Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania report incidence declines of 40 to 50 points compared to the previous day.
In a week-on-week comparison, the minus is greatest in these four federal states.
In the meantime, all northern countries are also below the threshold of 300 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 7 days.
Before Christmas, the incidence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was almost 400 and in Bremen and Lower Saxony almost 500.
235 corona deaths were reported to the RKI yesterday.
791 deceased have been registered within three days.
