Esteban Carrion, the spokesperson for the Popular Party of Albox, spoke out yesterday against the “unsustainable” situation in the municipality. Esteban Carrion was speaking after Francisco Torrecillas, the first mayor of the city, made the decision to act “as if the town were his farm” and take decisions “without counting upon the neighbors, despite being criticized and having the majority of Albojenses against>>.
Carrion lamented Torrecillas acting “by way of occurrences” and without considering the real needs Albox, such as when he cut down trees in Plaza Andalucia or Plaza de Salta for other uses.
The PP spokesperson explained that the councilor plans to construct a parking lot at Plaza Andalucia, Plaza de Abastos, citing a lack of parking, and without consulting the neighbors.
Francisco Torrecillas also cut down trees at Salta square on Ramon y Cajal street despite opposition from residents. This square is “a gathering point for many elders who use the shade of trees and the tranquility to spend the afternoons together, especially in summer>>
Esteban Carrion regrets that the first mayor was only interested in “harming” neighbors and making Albox “less desirable to live” when he should be doing the opposite. The mayor claims that Albox is a “first class town” and is correct, but the problem is that Albox has “third-class leaders”, who contradict themselves at every turn. He promises an underground parking lot with private spaces, but then he cancels the promise because he wants to build a large park in that area and move it to another location.
The PP defends that Albox does not deserve a government team that expels the companies and lowers taxes. This is because young people don’t have to travel abroad looking for opportunities. It also deserves a government team that doesn’t expel the businesses and that places the foundations for quality public infrastructures.
