The Danish super-mellemvægter Patrick Nielsen lost back in the end of april last year, the fight against the seasoned star-the boxer and the many-fold world champion Arthur Abraham on a split-decision.
A result which was discussed far and wide, and even called scandalous and debatable of bl.a. Jesper D. Jensen, president of Danish Professional Boxes-confederation.
Patrick Nielsen delivered a whole-hearted and integrated efforts against the boxes-the veteran from Armenia. And a rematch in Copenhagen came quickly.

– Arthur Abraham fight I will damn well shoot a white stick after … Now I have begged and asked to get this fight now in a half a year’s time, and it’s just been pushed all the time. And you know what? I have damn no time to wait on more. Now I want something else! said Patrick Nielsen for the Extra Magazine.
– And that they will not have a re-match afterwards, which they even promised me that I would get within two months … It is so corny! And I am really, really disappointed, he sighed.

– Patrick Nielsen said, before his brother’s fight, that he was very disappointed with Sauerland, because he had been promised a title shot against Arthur Abraham, which then never came to anything … He called it bl.a. plat … What is your immediate reaction?
– I’m even annoyed with it … We have worked hard for Patrick Nielsen over the years … But at the same time, he was perhaps not dedicated enough to his career in boxing? He has had an attempt to obtain a WORLD title, and other great things … And I can’t force a boxer to fight (Arthur Abraham, red.). I can continue to offer big money, but if he will not fight, what can I do? I can’t force him to go in the ring. I have done my best to arrange the fight … says the Pixie Sauerland to Ekstra Bladet.
– of course It is a pity, if he (Patrick Nielsen, ed.) feel disappointed … But he really can’t … I’ve known him since he was 17 years old, and so can he still not give me a call and say it directly …
– I wish him all the best! But it is hard to work with a guy who one moment decides to be a boxer and the next moment change your mind … I’m sure Patrick Nielsen and I will work together sometime in the future … But right now he was not in our plans and had, incidentally, is also not a contract with us. But I wish him the best of luck, ends the promoter, who simultaneously stresses that Team Sauerland has lost interest for the Danish boxing:
– We still have Dina Thorslund and Micki Nielsen – probably the best boxers in Denmark for the time being … I do not see that there is much more talent back … We also have Kem Ljungquist – the three biggest talents in Denmark, I would think. So we have certainly not lost interest in Danish boxing, he concludes.
