Already underway is the Summer School, promoted by the Department of Citizen Participation at La Alameda’s headquarters. This initiative, which has been a success in previous editions, is already underway. It involves 33 city minors. The initiative began on June 29th and will continue until August 31st.

Magdalena Urrutia (the councilor for the region) explained that the ITI Plan (Integrated Territorial Investment) has hired monitors to help with the execution. He stressed that the school is designed to reconcile work and home, and that it also seeks to provide experiences and new knowledge through entertainment, leisure, and fun dynamics. This promotes a variety of values through the implementation of a wide range of activities.

Urrutia stated that he wanted minors to enjoy their summers in a constructive manner, and that he was working with Manuel Jesus Perez (a Mundo Acoge social worker) during his visit. Urrutia spoke to students about the importance of values that remove stereotypes and promote aspects like camaraderie and healthy relationships with their families.
