“Ultima Thule looks like snowman”

“Scientists from the american space agency Nasa have revealed the first detailed close-ups of the most distant celestial body that man been able to study at close quarters.”

“The new images have been taken at a distance of 27 000 kilometres from Ultima Thule, which celestial body is named, and which are in the kuiper belt, which consists of millions of frozen objects in orbit around the sun beyond the orbit of Neptune.”

“It is Nasa’s New Horizons to fly past the object, in its journey away from the earth.”

“Ultima Thule looks a little like a snowman, where the two klotliknande structures are stuck together, one significantly larger than the other. Total is 31 kilometers long, of which the larger (19 kilometers in diameter) is called the Ultima and the slightly smaller (14 kilometres) is called the Thule, according to Nasa.”

“The two spheres were probably together shortly after the solar system formed, probably had the two at low speed.”

“New Horizons weighs 385 pounds and is about as big as a piano. The travel in the 50 to 700 km in an hour.”

“the Spacecraft were launched by Nasa from Cape Canaveral in Florida on January 19, 2006.”

“The July 14, 2015 was the craft, the first to reach Pluto, its moons and other frozen objects in the kuiper belt.”

“the Probe is equipped with seven different science instruments to study the himlakroppars atmosphere, the surface and the bowels of the earth.”

“January 1, 2019 was reached Ultima Thule. Nasa Voyagersonder have travelled further in space, but a craft has never before visited a planet at this distance.”
