– I’ve been down and scrape the bottom, where you almost can’t scrape more. And I have never ever in my 18 years of life been taken seriously with regard to boxing – not until now!. Just four years ago I was very overweight and I have lost about 20 pounds since then, says the just 18-year-old professional boxer Oliver Møllenberg.
– I have not always been a strong boxer. But with a former member of the rangers with 11 years in special forces as boksetræner (Carsten Post, red.) and extremely hard work, I have really developed me!
Before amateur career really took off, fought a top-frustrated and dejected Oliver Møllenberg namely both with weight and motivation. A long series of defeats on the strip was the harsh reality.
Oliver stopped even in the local bokseklub in barely a year, but turned, however reluctantly back, because he had become too overweight. Gilleleje-the boxer went even to the dietitian at Hillerød Hospital.
– In the club, there has always been respect. But from the outside I know that people have laughed at me up in the ring. I was called for Gillelejes Mini Brian Nielsen. I have been through a wild transformation. Not even my own father (Thomas Møllenberg, red.) thought I could go the distance.
But a fierce and relentless former member of the rangers was suddenly knocked confidence and winning mentality into the body of Oliver, while kiloene instead rattled by. And mesterskabstitlerne in the boxing ring was the result. The young Gilleleje-boxer cracked the code with a fated amateur victory over a Norwegian european championship and WORLD championship boxer back in 2017.
self-Discipline and træningsiver today has become the recipe on Oliver Møllenbergs success.

the OLYMPICS-dream off: – A big disappointment
The international bokseforbund (AIBA) has changed the rules so that amateur-boxers now can boxes up to 15 professional fights without losing their amateur status. Thus talented boxers as Oliver Møllenberg look forward to the important professional fights without losing the possibility to participate in research.ex. OL.
Not since 2012 has a Danish boxer namely represented Denmark at the OLYMPICS. Oliver Møllenberg therefore had the OLYMPICS in 2024, as the stated goal. But the lack of interest from DaBU’s page has been Gilleleje-boxer to turn his OLYMPIC dream and instead focus intensively on the professional career:
– DaBU would not me in the same way as I would the OLYMPICS even though I have beaten all the Danish boxers, that should be my competitors here at home. I am clearly disappointed over DaBU. And it is a big disappointment for me having to turn off the OLYMPICS-the dream, says Oliver Møllenberg.
But Peter Forsman came quickly into the picture. And it is a big dream as a boxer to become a professional! It goes without saying. My first professional fight went excellent, and it is here I must taste more!
– Peter Forsman is the future for the Danish professional boxing no matter how you look at it, he says.
the national coach has not looked our way in Gilleleje. It is no secret. And it is discouraging when you never ever hear a kvæk from the national coach. Why is there not a sæsonplan or just a main objective and sub-objectives?
– Hiv, however, the club’s coach or president to the conversation about future prospects, says a frustrated Thomas Møllenberg.
– When Oliver (Møllenberg, red.) was injured after the nordic championships last year, he received just a Messenger-the message from the Danish national coach – and he has since not heard a damn thing.
– The young people become when insecure: ‘Why am I not taken? Why don’t I hear anything?’. It creates demotivation! Now have Oliver instead said: ‘I bet 100 percent of the prof-career. I looking me not back – now there is only one road!’, he says.
