12. may this year was a nightmarish day for the 28-year-old Sarah Fuller from Portland in the state of Oregon in the UNITED states. Here she namely a terrible phone call from his own mother, who told her that her three-year-old son Micajah had been bitten by pitbull-dog Bobo, as her parents had had in nine years. The parents were immediately taken to hospital with the little Micajah, because he had received some very severe and serious bite in his face.

Sarah Fuller immediately took off to the hospital to see to his son. But when she arrived, she was told by a nurse that she should wait to see him until the doctors had given him the bandages in the face, because his injuries were so shocking to look at.

In the beginning it was extremely difficult for Sarah to look at his son without breaking out in tears.

– It was very hard to see on my son. I just wanted to cry all the time. I felt great despair and great sorrow for what had happened with my son. But I tried all the time for his sake to have a positive attitude. And I knew that it could have ended much worse. I am grateful that he is alive, says Sarah Fuller.

In connection with the violent bite in the face, got three-year-old Micajah subsequently reconstructed one side of his face by means of operations. The violent bite from pitbull-dog Bobo was passed through the cheek, and had destroyed the small boy’s nerves in the face. He also had severe damage to his gums and had lost one incisor.

The violent attack by the dog against the little boy created, of course, the tension in Sarah fuller’s family. But her parents immediately took full responsibility for the Bobo’s violent attacks against Micajah. Sarah wanted nor in any way to summon her parents in connection with the case, because they mean so infinitely much for her.

After the bloody attack, Micajah now terrified of dogs, regardless of their size. And in the first several months after the attack, he often had a nightmare where he dreamed that he was bitten.

Grandparents pit bull, Bobo had in the nine years, the family had had the dog, never shown any kind of aggressiveness. Sarah Fuller emphasises, however now that it is very important to keep dogs away from small children – whether they are known to have a good temperament.

My son is in the day afraid of both small and large dogs. He was filled with anger and sorrow, the first several months after the attack from Bobo. His doctor recommended that we bought a small puppy, so he can learn how to grow up without being afraid of dogs, tells Sarah Fuller and adds:

– Each time I took him out of the city after the attack and people looked at his scar, felt Micajah a need to tell everyone the story of how he had been assaulted by Bobo.

Sarah Fuller it is extremely important to get the message across that all dogs must be kept away from small children, even if you feel that they will not harm children.

– Dogs are by nature wild, and in our family there had never been any indication that Bobo was aggressive. But he was nevertheless, says Sarah Fuller.
