Anna Bennich Karlstedt had a bit of luck when she assembled ended up as a prao on the home for the elderly, she thinks.
” I was just placed there, had not chosen it. I thought that at the age of fourteen not that it sounded so fun, I thought the most would be about changing diapers. Instead, I was so fond of the residents I met there.
Perhaps it was the contrast between the everyday school life and the home for the elderly, which made so great an impression on her as a young teen, think Anna.
the school was a pretty tough environment. At the home for the elderly I was able to release it, I had to help the old, some dementia patients. Although there was much to do, although I could often sit at a bedside and chatting, braid a long silvery-grey hair, the quirky corsets, comfort, ask questions about the long life in another time.
– To get to have a work that raises so much hot feelings is a luxury. So I never felt when I worked extra at a fast food restaurant.
After praoperioden continued Anna to work extra in various health professions. In the long term, she wanted to become a nurse. But in high school, she became more and more interested in psychology and started to aim to become a psychologist instead. And so it was.
, Anna is a licensed psychologist and psychotherapist with a focus on cognitive behavioral therapy. After the training, she worked for three years in occupational health, since she started her own practice.
” I work with both individuals and in the workplace. On the one hand with the treatment for the individual, and with the parterapi. It may involve, for example anxiety disorder, problems sleeping, depression, stress or relationship problems. In the workplace, I work with health issues as the work environment, conflicts and leadership.
Loneliness is something that needs to be highlighted much more. I want to raise it up to a public health issue.
For Anna, it is important to work with the research as the basis, and also to make it understandable and accessible to as many people as possible.
In the many years she has lectured and trained on, among other things, stress, stress management, conflict management and health and safety.
– There are topics that I feel very good about, ” says Anna, who also is the author. Her first book, ”Sick stressed out – a guide to managing everyday stress” came out in 2015.
The second book, ”the Way through the divorce – to deal with a lost love relationship” was published in 2016, after Anna herself gone through a divorce.
in the final stages of work on a new book, which is about loneliness.
– There are many sides of the ensamhetsmyntet, both the that we so desperately need and that may be so undesirable and scary. For many people in Sweden are non-selected solitude is a big problem, which involves a great deal of suffering, ” says Anna.
Loneliness is something that needs to be highlighted much more. I want to raise it up to a public health issue. If, on the Vårdguiden and looking at the ”health” is almost everything, stress, sleep, exercise, alcohol, tobacco – but not loneliness, despite the fact that it is something that affects the health negatively for so many.
