Bruges With a spectacular fireworks display and a three-hour long dance – and zingfestijn Bruges has the turn of the year celebrated. The weather was good and the atmosphere was great. That made for a great turnout of more than ten thousand people.

“First we eat together at home and then we drop down to Bruges. That’s been around for years and that tradition we hold in honor,” says Patrick Snelders from Assebroek. The number of visitors to the largest party of Bruges is again increasing, after the last year on the Beursplein. The big comeback on ’t Zand was a direct hit. Although the square on a weekday, maybe a little bare to the touch, it is the perfect location for an event. Of the stage at ’t Santpoortje to the new motorway on the square were people dancing and singing along from the first notes of ‘Party rock anthem’ by LMFAO.
