We have been delegates of the German Bishops’ Conference for the “Synodal Path” of the Catholic Church in Germany since 2019. Its declared aim was to deal with the cases of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. In the course of this, however, central Catholic teachings and beliefs were also called into question.
We can no longer go along this path, on which, in our opinion, the Church in Germany is moving more and more away from the universal Church.
