– Incredibly sad and incredibly serious. The defense has a zero tolerance policy for bullying and sexual abuse.

Such is the first reaction from the main employee representative for the conscripts in the Air force, Sara Aasen (22).

– the Extent of reported rapes and sexual assaults in the Armed forces in 2018 is worse than expected, ” says chief union representative for the conscripts in the Army, Camilla Løvland (20), to Dagbladet.

Over 160 people in the armed forces say they have been raped or attempted raped in the last year, according to a study NRK has gained access to.

Every other day

the Results from the MOST survey (Bullying and sexual harassment) are submitted to the forsvarssjefens the senior management team, but is not public yet. The answers show that many in the Armed forces say that they have been subjected to abuse in the tolvmånedersperioden covered by the survey:

Over 40 people saying that they have been raped. Over 15 of them are men. Over 120 people saying that they have been attempted to be raped.

Add the answers to the reason, it means there from serving in the Armed forces happens either a rape or a voldtektsforsøk almost every other day, according to NRK.

Løvland is stationed in Bardufoss, where she took over as the chief union representative last summer after completing their own length of service and education that the military police the same place.

Alerts

the Army is the largest våpengrenen with nearly 5000 of the 8500 conscripts in the Armed forces in total.

She doesn’t know yet how many of the alerts that apply to her own våpengren or possibly her own tjenestested Bardufoss.

– as of Tuesday I have not been how the notifications are divided between the våpengrenene, or how the distribution is between conscripts and the employees. The statistics are supposed to contain also warns about the employees, ” says the hovedtillitsvalgte from Kristiansand.

the Air force hovedtillitsvalgte, Sara Aasen from Trondheim, norway, is located at Rygge air station. She has had tillitsvervet a year and a half after having completed the initial service the same place.

– Clearly management’s responsibility

She has not yet been presented more than the main figures, and know not how many cases that applies to her own våpengren, either for the authorities or employees.

She thinks the chief of staff has responded with several important and postive action, which she pulls out two points:

I think it is good that he promises a review of the system of notification to all and that lederansvaret in varslingssaker shall be clearly defined, ” says Sara Aasen to the Newspaper.

She also feels it is positive that such a comprehensive registration of cases shall be done every two years.
