The Sharing of vehicles assigned to Zurich in comparison with six other major European cities in the midfield. In Paris, Copenhagen and Barcelona twice as many Sharing vehicles are measured in terms of the number of inhabitants.
ZHAW shows How an on Tuesday published study by students of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Zurich, per 1000 inhabitants 6,6 shared cars, bicycles, scooters and E-scooters. In Paris there are about 14 vehicles. Also, Copenhagen and Barcelona, the Limmat city outclass 11.6, respectively, to 10.9 vehicles. By contrast, Zurich-Berlin (5 vehicles), London (2,1) and Vienna (0,9) clearly behind.
Very different is the order, if only cars are taken into account. In the already established car-sharing market in Zurich ranked with 1.2 vehicles per 1000 inhabitants in second place behind Copenhagen (1,8).
linking systems
The Sharing of the market more waxes steadily, a noticeable growth experience currently, however, only the Bike-Sharing, writes the ZHAW. A large deficiency is the missing link of the systems. Any Sharing scheme will be managed via a dedicated App. And links of public TRANSPORT subscriptions, with Sharing, there would be almost no.
According to Thomas Sauter-Servaes, head of the ZHAW’s bachelor programme in transport systems, could increase such a link, the attractiveness of the Sharing options. He thinks about the Rent of Sharing vehicles with the App or the subscription card, a public TRANSPORT company. The vehicles should stand at transport hubs and public TRANSPORT stops. (sda)
