The year initiative, which will provide 300 jobs, will begin in 2020, according to Saab.

“Initially, the plant’s focus to be aeronautical in nature; the manufacture of larger structural sections and the final assembly of Saab’s parts of the skolflygplanet T-X, which are jointly designed by Saab and Boeing for the U.S. air force,” writes Saab.

According to Saab’s ceo Håkan Buskhe is the bet part of Saab’s growth strategy in the US and a deeper relationship with the u.s. customer.

“We see great opportunities for this facility and our partnership”, says Buskhe in a comment.

Saab has operations in the united states, including a north american headquarters in Syracuse in the state of New York.
