According to Facebook it’s on the pages, groups and accounts linked to Iran, Russia, Macedonia and Kosovo.

the Reason that Facebook removed the platforms shall be to the people behind the operations interacted and used fake accounts to appear as something other than what they are. The content published on the platforms should not, however, had an impact on the decision.

In a press release, write Facebook:

”We work constantly to detect and stop this type of activity because we do not want our services to be used to manipulate people.”

and the accounts that were removed have 513 of them devoted themselves to the ”coordinated, unreliable behavior” as a part of several networks linked to Iran. The networks shall be operated in countries such as Egypt, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy and Kazakhstan. Those who operated the platform, have declared themselves to be locals, and fictional media, and should also have imitated real political groups and media organisations.

the Whole 1.907 of the deleted pages, groups and accounts are linked to Russia. It should first and foremost move on the fake accounts devoted to the dissemination of spam in the groups and pages. A small portion of these posts should have touched on the Ukrainian news and politics, including topics such as corruption, the Ukrainian military and the situation on the crimean peninsula.

groups and accounts that are removed are said to have originated in Macedonia and Kosovo. Even here, users have created fake accounts in order to publish content on their pages, including material relating to astrology, celebrities and beauty tips. Some pages have also been used in order to appear as the residence of the political groups in Australia, the united kingdom and the united states.

According to the Facebook millions of accounts have followed or joined in the various groups, pages and accounts on Facebook and Instagram. Tens of thousands of dollars should have been spent on Facebookannonser for these pages.
