The Swiss economy has grown after a slump in the third quarter in the last quarter of the year 2018. The real gross domestic product (GDP) rose from October to December compared with the previous quarter by 0.2 percent.

Compared with the corresponding quarter of the previous year, this corresponds to a growth of 1.4 per cent. The quarter-on-Quarter for the third quarter has been slightly revised down to -0.3 percent from -0.2 percent.

The manufacturing sector is dynamically grown, informed the state Secretariat for economic Affairs (Seco) on Thursday. At the same time, exports of goods had risen sharply. Domestic demand, however, is stagnating.

For the full year of 2018, which resulted, according to the first Seco-estimate GDP growth of 2.5 per cent to 1.6 per cent in the previous year. Thus, the Swiss economy achieved a growth comparable to the year 2014, the Seco.

at that Time, the economic growth amounted to 2.4 per cent. In particular, in the first half of the year 2018, the growth was significantly above average. In the second half of the year, the economy had slowed in this country as well as internationally then but noticeable. (ij/sda)
