Travel On the museumdomein of the Verbeke Foundation in the East-Flemish Kemzeke is a very special hotel: the CasAnus. You sleep there in a huge intestine, and anus. After French, British and even Russian media articles dedicated to one of the most original hotel rooms of the country, has now also CNN Travel, the travel guide of the famous American news channel, the hotel discovered. The CasAnus is in the ranking of the world’s most quirky hotel rooms.

The CasAnus is located in the middle of the domain of the Verbeke Foundation, a private art space with an impressive collection of modern and contemporary works of art. “We can count on 160 à 200 stays per year,” explains founder Geert Verbeke. “Last week we had French guests. The weekends are always full. Especially the French, the Dutch, who stop on the way to France, england and, of course, also Belgians like to spend one night in the intestine,” says Verbeke. “In many museums you must anywhere hands off, with us you can stay overnight and are you even from 18 hours all alone. People appreciate that, as well as the beautiful location of the CasAnus in the pond.”
The CasAnus offers all the comforts with a separate bedroom, living room and of course a toilet . A night in the ‘darmhotel ” costs 120 euro, including breakfast and museum visit. In the ‘darmhotel’ stayed even whole families. “Recently stayed here with a couple and their three children after one of the daughters with her academy a tour had gotten in the museum. They had them specially asked to be here for her birthday to spend the night.”
