According to sources for Bloomberg to be the SEC investigating payments to the former board member, Carlos Ghosn, who is accused of economic crime in Japan. The examination should also clarify whether the company has taken sufficient measures to prevent incorrect payments.
Carlos Ghosn, who was arrested last year, was formally accused by the public prosecutor, and then, in 2010, reported a much lower income than he in reality has had.
He is suspected also for other economic crimes and has since sparkats from the top posts, even in Renault’s japanese partners Nissan and Mitsubishi.
A spokesperson for Nissan to confirm that they received a request from the SEC and stated that they will cooperate during the examination.
